Follows the Shropshire Caving & Mining Club as its members descend from daylight through the large stopes of the Baryte workings at the eastern end of the Snailbeach vein. This was the only access, at the time, to the east end of Perkin's or Roberts level - last worked in the 1950s, and then blocked by a roof fall.
Since this recording was made the roof fall has been removed and access to Perkins level improved, allowing the Shropshire Mines Trust to take visitors into the level (but not the large stope). As a result of the safety work, most of the artefacts seen in this recording have been removed.
From Perkins level, exploration can continue down to reach deeper lead workings. Also see the DVD production "Snailbeach"
